Richland One Needs Assessment Parent Survey

Richland One is asking that parents of students in grades 8-12 complete an on-line survey as part of our needs assessment. Improving our middle and high schools is the focus of Richland One’s school reform efforts through Making Middle Grades Work and High Schools that Work.  Career development and preparation is a key component of an effective school system.  The survey is available as a link on middle and high schools web pages and on the district web page.  Hard copies of the survey will be available at each middle and high school’s main office.  Parents are asked to complete the survey by December 18.

Please answer each question choosing the best answer available.  All responses are anonymous.  Completion of the survey should take approximately 10 minutes.  Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey to keep Richland One middle and high schools on track to be the best in the state and the nation.

Principal's Message

Dear Scorpion Family,

Welcome back to the 2009-2010 school year.  We’re off to a GREAT start thanks to all the hard work and dedication of our students, parents, faculty and staff.  We are excited about all of the learning opportunities that we have planned for our students this year and we wish all students the best in the coming year.  As I enter my third year at Southeast Middle, and my first as the interim principal, I look forward to working with our outstanding students, parents and staff.

Academic achievement along with social and emotional growth is paramount in our student's success both in school and in life. We strive daily to develop these attributes in each of our students. 

I truly believe we have one of the best middle school staffs around. Whether you are looking for challenging academic programs, competitive boys’ and girls’ athletics, a variety of elective opportunities or just a great medium sized middle school, Southeast Middle School is the place.  

It is important that we keep in mind the importance of communication. Constant communication between home and school is the best way to ensure a successful educational experience for students.  It is a goal of Southeast to provide many avenues for all parents and students to communicate with the school.  Please feel free to email or call teachers, counselors or administrators.  Take the time to read our newsletters, visit our website, utilize parent connect, answer automated school messages and watch for updates on the marquee.  We invite all parents to join our PTO which meets the first Monday of each month at 6:00PM in the media center.  Parents are always welcomed to observe classes at any time after signing-in in the main office.  And as always I welcome the opportunity to speak with every parent. 

Once again welcome back to Southeast, where excellence is the expectation!

ParentCONNECT

ParentConnect allows parents/guardians access to their student's information including grades and attendance records. Please register if you do not have an account.

You can register online or in the main office for a ParentCONNECT account. However, a valid photo ID must be verified at the school before your login user name and password can be issued. This procedure is to ensure the privacy of student information.

Parents/guardians may come to the school to complete the ID verification either before or after registering. Once the verification has been completed, the school can either mail or email your account information. After registering online, usernames and passwords are available about a week later.
